Alibaba unveils Tongyi Qianwen, an AI model similar to ChatGPT
Alibaba Group Holding Ltd on Tuesday unveiled Tongyi Qianwen, a GPT-like major artificial intelligence language model that it plans to integrate into all of the company’s business applications in the near future.
It will first be integrated with DingTalk, Alibaba’s workplace messaging app, and can be used to take meeting notes, write emails and draft business proposals, the company said in a statement. It will also be added to Tmall Genie, Alibaba’s voice assistant.
Alibaba Cloud plans to open up Tongyi Qianwen to its customers to build their own custom large language models.
Tongyi Qianwen is based on Tongyi, Alibaba’s own pre-trained model framework that combines various AI models.
On Monday, the Chinese artificial intelligence company SenseTime introduced a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence called “SenseChat”. CEO and co-founder Xu Li presented the big AI model SenseNova and the user-oriented SenseChat chatbot.
SenseChat is based on the company’s major AI model, SenseNova, said Xu Li, its CEO and co-founder. Xu demonstrated how SenseChat was able to tell the story of a cat catching a fish through several rounds of questions and answers.
He then demonstrated how a robot can help write computer code, lay-level questions in English or Chinese, and translate them into a working product, Bloomberg reported.
According to the report, he said that now human programmers do about 80 percent of AI development work, but in the future it will be flipped so that AI can handle 80 percent of the effort, with humans taking 20 percent. to guide and polish the work.
